The concrete patio of the Kultasimppu sheltered home for the elderly, run by Haukipudas Municipality, was transformed into a green oasis through volunteer work.
The Federation of Finnish Enterprises is to hold its National Business Fair 2012 in Oulu on 19-21 October. The Federation’s annual gathering attracts about 2,000 entrepreneurs from all over Finland. Being in Oulu this year, the event will feature not only the more traditional programme but also something new and innovative: a business networking service named Y-treffit! This service is designed to attract a greater number of young, growth-orientated companies to the event.

Culture coaching has been selected as the 21st of Oulu’s ‘100 Acts’. Culture coaching is a service that was launched at the beginning of 2012 by the University of Oulu. The service is targeted at businesses, organisations and associations in the Oulu region that operate internationally or are planning to do so.
Oulu Self-Care Services, a personal online welfare service for residents of Oulu, was selected as the 20th of Oulu’s “100 Acts”. It is Finland’s most extensive online service that provides residents of a municipality with access to health and social services – at any time and any place.
