The project to support the adaptation of the ICT field in the Oulu Region to the changes in Nokia community, Wireless Ecosystem 2020, has been granted continued funding until the end of 2014.
The project is funded by BusinessOulu and the Council of Oulu Region, and conducted by the Centre for Wireless Communications (CWC), a research unit in the University of Oulu.
In 2014 the project will focus on expanding the wireless to new fields of business, and on creating new corporate partnerships. Dr. Harri Posti, the director of CWC, says: ”A major emphasis is to facilitate the international networking of small and middle-sized enterprises of the Oulu Region through the EU framework programme Horizon 2020”.
The major local investments in OuluHealth (Kontinkangas) and in Smart Arctic City Oulu (Hiukkavaara) will be exploited in the WE 2020 by running commercial and technical pilots to strengthen the export trade of the partner companies.
