The arctic pitching challenge is here again

Julkaistu 10.12.2014

Polar Bear Pitching will be organized again 2015. This ice breaking event takes place on 25th of February in the Capital of Northern Scandinavia, Oulu in Northern Finland. The event offers literally the coolest possible stage for pitching; a hole cut through the ice of river Oulujoki.

Polar Bear Pitching gathers the most dedicated startups and visionary talents together with the investors, large audiences and media. The first Polar Bear Pitching took place in February 2014 and was an immediate success. Close to 30 startups jumped into the icy waters as well as numerous keynote speakers and investors. Today, over 60% of these startups are now funded.

At the moment, the preparations are well underway for the February event and startups are applying for the ultimately coolest stage. The idea is to handpick those startups that have most potential with scalable and international business models. Similarly to the first event, there will be the After Swim party with more interesting speakers plus a matchmaking event for diverse target groups.

Polar Bear Pitching is the only ice pitching event on the globe and is organized by a non-profit Finnish organization called Midnight Pitch Fest NPO. Local universities and business schools, incubators, business blenders and city's business development team as well as local companies are all volunteering and working together to make it happen.
