If you are a customer of BusinessOulu’s employment services and are in paid work, a work trial, a rehabilitation work placement or part-time work, you can qualify for a studification position.
Studification means that the skills you have acquired during the period will be made visible and you will receive a certificate of competence for your work-related skills. You can also apply for a certificate of competences from an educational institution. As such, studification can be a route to employment or an incentive to complete a full qualification. The objectives and duration of the studification period will be tailored to your individual needs. Studification positions are available in the places described as learning environments.
Ask your personal coach if studification is possible for you.

If you are out of work or working but at risk of unemployment, you can get labour market training. This is mostly vocational training, such as preparatory training for a basic or vocational qualification or further vocational training.
Labour market training is free of charge, so you won’t need to pay participation or examination fees. However, card and licence training may be subject to a fee. During the training, you will receive the same benefit as when unemployed (labor market subsidy, basic unemployment allowance, or earnings-related allowance).
If the training is included in your employment plan and you incur costs from participating in the training, you can receive an expense allowance (9€ / €18 per day) for the days of participation. The decision on this allowance is made by the payer of your unemployment benefit (Kela or your unemployment fund). If you do not receive the allowance from your unemployment benefit payer, you can apply for a discretionary expense allowance from employment services.
Recruitment Training
The Recruitment Training Programs are labor market training courses in which the recruiting company participates in organising the training. A large part of the learning takes place within the company, and the goal is to be employed by the recruiting company at the end of the training.

Short-term studies
Short-term studies can improve your chances of getting a job.
You can get unemployment benefit during short-term studies if you are at least 25 years old and your studies do not last longer than six months.
During your short-term studies, you must apply for a job in accordance with your employment plan and be prepared to accept full-time work.
If you are planning to study, always contact your personal coach first.
Self-directed studies
As a customer of BusinessOulu’s employment services, you can receive unemployment benefit for full-time studies. You can apply for a study place yourself, but you can only start studying once BusinessOulu’s employment services have assessed the impact of your planned studies on your employment. Your studies can only be supported by unemployment benefit if the planned studies are considered to significantly improve your chances of finding a job.
Self-directed studies can also be applied to recruitment training, which involves finding and training employees in cooperation with companies and/or companies in the human resources sector.
During the course of your self-directed studies, you will be arranged job search interviews, just like any other job seeker. In the interviews, your employment plan will be updated, and your job search obligations negotiated.
If you are planning to study with an unemployment benefit, always contact your personal coach first.
Part-time studying
As a customer of BusinessOulu’s employment services, you can study part-time and receive unemployment benefit at the same time. However, during your part-time studies, you must apply for a job in accordance with your employment plan and be prepared to accept full-time work.
If you are planning to study, always contact your personal coach first.
