Summer job internships

Oulu students over 18 years old can apply for summer job internships in the City of Oulu.

Summer job internships are available in different service areas and utilities of the city. The jobs can include, for example, maintaining parks and outdoor sports facilities or working in libraries or museums.

The summer job internships last for a month between May 1 and September 30, working 30 hours a week for a gross salary of 1100 €.

The application period for the summer job internships is from 19 January to 27 February 2026.

Please note that the main working language is Finnish and the application form on Kuntarekry is in Finnish only. However, some of the summer job internships require English language skills.

How to apply for a summer job internship

You can apply for a summer job internship for the City of Oulu when:

• you are a student but will not graduate during the spring (except for those who will graduate from upper secondary school in spring 2026)
• your municipality of residence is Oulu
• you are 18 years of age or older by 30 April 2026
• you have not had a summer job internship for the City of Oulu in 2024 or 2025

Please note that you can have only one summer job internship for the City of Oulu during the same summer.

University students over the age of 18 who live in Oulu can apply for summer job internships with the City of Oulu.

Summer job internships are available to Oulu residents who are at least in their second year of higher education, who are not yet graduating or completing their degree and will continue their studies in the autumn. If you are an international student and have completed a degree or studies outside Finland, these must be approved by a Finnish educational institution.

The summer job internship period for university students lasts 1–2 months between May 1 and September 30, with 30 hours of work per week and a salary of 1,616.91 € per month.

The application period for these summer job internships is from 9 February to 6 March 2026.

How to apply for a summer job internship

You can apply for a City of Oulu summer job internship for university students if:

• you are at least a second-year university student but will not graduate in the spring (your studies will continue in the autumn)
• your municipality of residence is Oulu
• you are 18 years of age or older by 30 April 2026
• you have not had a summer internship for the City of Oulu in 2024 or 2025

Please note that you can have only one summer job internship with the City of Oulu during the same summer.

The City of Oulu offers summer job internships to young people over the age of 18 who are students and require special support. These are young people who need more guidance and support in their work. Summer job interns will be supported by a job coach who will visit the workplaces and be available during the working day.

The work tasks are assistant tasks in the City’s units.

The summer job internships last for a month between May 1 and September 30, working 30 hours a week for a gross salary of 1100 €.

The application period for the summer job internships is from 19 January to 27 February 2026.

How to apply for a summer job internship

You can apply for a City of Oulu summer job internship for students with special needs when:

• you are a student but will not graduate during the spring (except for those who will graduate from upper secondary school in spring 2026)
• your municipality of residence is Oulu
• you were born between 1 May 1996 and 30 April 2008
• you have not had a summer internship for the City of Oulu in 2024 or 2025

Please note that you can have only one summer job internship for the City of Oulu during the same summer.

Tasks: Liikuntakorttien rekisteröinti ohjelmistorobotin avulla myynnin helpottamiseksi. Helppo ja monotoninen työ, mutta vaatii huolellisuutta. Sorminäppäryyttä vaativa kortin tarroitus. If you are a student over 18 years old and receive basic income support from Kela, you can apply for a City of Oulu summer job traineeship.

Summer job internships are available in different service areas and utilities of the city. The jobs can include, for example, maintaining parks and outdoor sports facilities or working in libraries or museums.

The summer job internships last for a month between May 1 and September 30, working 30 hours a week for a gross salary of 1100 €.

The application period for the summer job internships is from 13 May to 17 June 2026.

Please note that the main working language is Finnish and the application form on Kuntarekry is in Finnish only. However, some of the summer job internships require English language skills.

How to apply for a summer job internship

You can apply for a City of Oulu summer job internship when:

• you are a student but will not graduate during the spring (except for those who will graduate from upper secondary school in spring 2026)
• your municipality of residence is Oulu
• you have received a granting decision on basic income support from Kela. Applicants must provide proof of a valid income support decision in their summer job application. You can attach the decision on basic income support from Kela to your application by 3 p.m. on 17 June 2026.
• you are 18 years of age or older by 30 April 2026

The City of Oulu offers summer job internships for 16–17-year-old students from Oulu at Oulun Tilapalvelut. The work involves mowing lawns and maintaining plantings on city properties.

The summer job internships last for a month between May 1 and September 30, working 30 hours a week for a gross salary of 810 €.

The application period for the summer job internships is from 19 January to 27 February 2026.

How to apply for a summer job internship

You can apply for a City of Oulu summer job internship when:

• you were born between 1 May 2008 and 30 April 2010
• you are a student but will not graduate during the spring (those completing secondary school in spring 2026 can apply for a summer internship)
• your municipality of residence is Oulu
• you have not had a summer job internship for the City of Oulu in 2024 or 2025

If you accept a summer job internship at Oulun Tilapalvelut, you cannot utilise a summer job voucher for the same summer (summer job internships and summer work vouchers are mutually exclusive).
