Oulu is the most attractive location in Finland for new hotel business

In Oulu, the average utilisation rate of the city’s largest hotels has been over 65 percent in recent years and is steadily growing.The sales of the biggest hotels have grown an average of 17 percent over a two-year period. International overnight stays also grew in 2016 by 7 percent.

Approx. 20 percent of the overall amount of 600,000 overnight stays were international guests. Oulu’s booming business sector is reflected in the growth of business travellers, in which a 13 percent growth was observed.

Leisure travel attractiveness and marketing is also getting a push, with significant growth expected in the future. It isn’t without merit to state that in Finland, Oulu is the most attractive location for new openings in hotel business.

Here are two examples of such new opening to invest in.

The Bay Tower Hotel Oulu - At the heart of it all

The unique shaped architecture of the hotel is inspired by the Gulf of Bothnia. The hotel rooms are located in the higher part of the building, providing spectacular unobstructed views for the dwellers. The lower part of the building consists mainly of supporting functions and conference facilities. The restaurant and spa-facilities are situated on the top of building – with an amazing panoramic view over the whole city of Oulu.

The Park Hotel Oulu – Serenity within the city

The dynamic shaped structure has a strong and recognizable main entrance carved into the main building form. The warm wood cladding in the entrance creates an excellent contrast for the delicate glass façade of the building. The hotel itself consists of two parts and the restructured section is displayed behind the new building mass in the picture.

Located in the immediate vicinity of the Oulu city center, next to the Hupisaaret Islands.

The tourist attractions in the area include the greenhouses of the city gardens, an arboretum and the Northern Ostrobothnia Museum.
