New flight route linking Oulu, Luleå and Tromsø

Arctic Airlink the new flight route that connects northern Norway, northern Finland and northern Sweden is soon ready for take off. The three university cities Oulu, Luleå och Tromsö will shortly have direct connection with each other.

City of Oulu, Troms fylkeskommune and Norrbotten County Council are working on the financing for the new flight route that will be set.

- The three regions County Councils role is to ensure that we have an infrastructure in place in northern Scandinavia, says Matti Pennanen, Mayor of Oulu. After the trial period, which is five years, the route will fly on commercial basis.

-It is significant that we have a flight connection in east-west direction between our neighbours in the north, says Pennanen.

The plans are to launch the route in January. More information, concerning timetable, ticket prices, aircraft and operator will be communicated in November.
