Science and business greet each other in Oulu University Business Forum 9th of November

University Business Forum introduces the latest research in the University of Oulu to companies and lets companies pitch their wishes to researchers.

Keynote speakers in this event are Katarina Segerståhl, chief strategy officer of Aava, one of the biggest private healthcare companies in Finland and Petri Lehmus, R&D vice president at Neste, the biggest fuel company in Finland and the biggest producer of renewable diesel in the world.

The event kicks off at nine in the morning with breakfast and keynotes. After getting inspired by the keynotes, visitors divide into three themed sub sessions, each covering the latest research of a certain theme. The themes of this event are wireless communications and AI, circular economy, and personalised health. Each sub session consists of four to five research groups sharing their findings and five companies pitching their projects, hopes and needs to the science community.

All participants gather together again for lunch, which is followed by tours in the university premises. On the same day at 6 p.m. a University Gala will be held at the university of Oulu. Therefore, too, this day as a whole offers a great opportunity for networking with the most influential people in your field.

The University Business Forum is open for everyone and free of charge. You can read more on the website of the event: http://www.oulu.fi/ubf2018. Actual registration opens later, but you can already secure your place in the University Business Forum by sending e-mail to ubf2018@oulu.fi. Further info can also be requested from the same address.
