Increased export through cooperation with Sweden and Finland

Interreg Nord approved a joint EU project application for BusinessOulu and the Norrbotten Chamber of Commerce for international business cooperation.

The aim of the cooperation project Export cooperation Sweden-Finland is to open new international business opportunities for companies and to develop export networks for both of countries.

“We want to see and succeed as a unified northern region that is an attractive and innovative business ecosystem,” Project Manager Sanna Savolainen from BusinessOulu says to inspire companies to export activities.

Robert Forsberg of the Norrbotten Chamber of Commerce says: "Networks play a key role globally also in Norrbotten's b-to-b collaboration, whether they seek out experts to help companies in the local businesses."

Export co-operation is financed by the Swedish-Finnish Interreg Nord, Tillväxtverket, Region Norrbotten, Sparbanken Nord and Längmanska Företagarfonden. In Finland financing organizations are City of Oulu, City of Rovaniemi, the Oulu Chamber of Commerce, the Lapland Chamber of Commerce and Finnvera. The other partners in Finland are Nordic Ostrobothnia Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment and Pohjoiskalotin Rajaneuvonta.

Total budget for project is 1 326 150 euros. Duration for project: 1.10.2019–31.12.2022.
