Pitching in an ice hole - Polar Bear Pitching is here again

Julkaistu 20.12.2016

Polar Bear Pitching will be organized for the fourth time on February 14-15th 2017 in Oulu, Finland. The two-day event gathers hundreds of participants from around the world to an arctic adventure, which will be live-streamed to a global audience. Polar Bear Pitching differs from all the other pitching competitions in two ways: there’s no time limit, and the pitches must be given while standing waist deep in ice cold water in the frozen Baltic Sea.

On Feb 14th the stage will open for “dark bears”. The dark bear competition is open to any qualified startup on-site who is willing to accept the challenge to pitch in an ice hole and impress the jury. The top three dark bears will join the preselected 12 startups at the Polar Bear Pitching Finals on Feb 15th to chase the €10K cash prize. Last year’s winner, FlowMotion Technologies, has gone on to raise $350,000 already in the midst of its Kickstarter campaign which is more than 11 times of its original target.

During the week Oulu will be filled with fresh ideas as Oulu Startup Week and Oulu Investor Day take place at the same time. Moreover Polar Bear Pitching will offer exciting meetups, keynotes, and workshops.
