We are proud to announce that our operator Nextjet now enables codeshare with SAS and interline with Widerøe. This opens up a frequently requested possibility for passengers to travel on one ticket from Tromsø, Lulea and Oulu to a destination beyond Arctic Airlink route. For example it will now be possible travel from Oulu to Kirkenes (via Luleå and Tromsø) but also from Tromsø to Copenhagen via Luleå and Stockholm.
Already since the start of the route it has been requested from many travelers to be able to buy one ticket from their home destinations to a destination beyond the route of Arctic Airlink. Starting from Monday 14th of September this is now possible through a cooperation between Nextjet and SAS but also with Widerøe.
With SAS, Nextjet has a codeshare agreement and with Widerøe an interline agreement. The difference between the two types of cooperation is that the codeshare agreements gives the Nextjet flights a SAS flight number as well as the original Nextjet flight number. Tickets are available on both flysas.com and wideroe.com as well as travel agencies. The big advantages is that the checked in luggage will go all the way and that the traveler will be rebooked to another flight if irregularities occurs.
In essence the advantages are:
- Luggage is checked in directly to final destination, which allows shorter connection times.
- Passengers will get boarding cards for all legs already when checking in at Tromsø, Lulea and Oulu.
- Passengers will be rebooked to nearest possible flight in case of irregularities.
The relationship we announced today will add significant value for Arctic Airlink´s customers traveling throughout and beyond the Arctic region, says Robert Forsberg, president at Arctic Airlink.
