Online Information Session: BOSAI-TECH Open Innovation Challenge in Japan led by City of Sendai and Fukushima Prefecture (Business opportunity for Japanese market)

As one of the Regional Business Conference (RBC) program 2020, Sendai City and Fukushima prefecture will offer the BOSAI-TECH Open Innovation Challenge in Japan to foreign companies. In this program, leading Japanese corporations from different industries will give BOSAI-related themes. If your solution will be selected, you will be able to present your idea by online and participate in the online business matching event, which will be held in March 2021. This challenge would provide you opportunities for market entry and expansion of your business in Japan as well as global market by developing a cutting-edge product in cooperate with leading Japanese corporations. JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization) will give you full supports for business expansion in Japan.

Sendai City and Fukushima prefecture are one of the devastated areas by the Great East Japan Earthquake on 11 March 2011. Since then, they have been seeking for innovative solutions (technologies) towards BOSAI, which is the Japanese term meaning prevention of disaster with the concept from disaster risk reduction to reconstruction and recovery, aiming at avoiding similar catastrophic happenings again.

RBC program is operated by JETRO and Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) in order to encourage direct investment and collaboration with local business in Japan from 2018.

If you are interested in this challenge, participating in the “information session” is the best way before submitting your idea, but even if you won’t take part in the information session, you can submit the idea.

Here are the 3 options for the information session.
(1) 26 November 2020 at 15:00-16:00 in Japan (8:00-9:00 in Finland)
(2) 30 November 2020 at 23:00-24:00 in Japan (16:00-17:00 in Finland)
(3) 3 December 2020 at 3:00-4:00 in Japan (2 December at 20:00-21:00 in Finland)
