Santa Claus World Congress in Copenhagen was from Monday till Wednesday and present were Santa Clauses, elves and Mrs Santas together in Denmark, Bakken amusement park. There was a Santa Claus from Canada, Sweden, Norway, Germany and even Japan and Australia.

Interview by Kaleva Newspaper:

Why did you not participated in the event, Santa Claus? “We have had here in the Arctic Circle these events of our own, and have been more focused on these ones. Summer is a busy time here in Arctic Circle and last weekend we just had children's skiing competition and then there were all kinds of other happenings, so we just didn’t have time for that.”

Did you get invitation to the event? “Personally not but they have always informed in public that all are welcome there. I have sometimes been there, but it is many years ago. And because the Finnish summer is so short and there is so much to do we just accidentally forgot it. Just this morning we noticed with Rudolf and other reindeers – oh dear, it is already mid July!

Would Mrs. Santa had an interest to go to this event? No, Mrs Santa is so busy in the summer! And the Elves, you can’t always remember at all that, how much there is to be done during the summer time.

Has there been competition between different Santa Clauses? No, surely anyone can’t compete who loves children the most, that is not true at all.

So, there has not been dispute about who is the real Santa Claus? No not at all, they all know me and there is nothing unclear.

What are Santa Clauses talking with each other in congress? Well, yes, there is a wide range of discussion. For example, constructions of chimneys and the reindeer diet, and then the gift wishes an so on. The weather of course is always a good topic. Report from Reuters 2008.
